How to Take Care of Your Coffee Candle, For Long Lasting Burn Times
- Trim Your Wick Before You Light It! (Yup, Every Time.) The longer the wick, the hotter the wax burns. When the wick is untrimmed the precious scented wax evaporates faster than it should. You're ready to burn as long as your wick is about 6mm (quarter of an inch) long. When you keep your wick trimmed, it allows you to get more out of the candle. This is the most crucial candle care step!
- Always Keep Your Candle Clean of Wick Debris. Always ensure that there is no debris, wick trimmings, or matches in the wax of the coffee candle. Otherwise, the natural soot from the wick may make a murky waxy mess.
- Keep it Cool. After you have burned your coffee-scented candle, allow it to properly cool down for about two hours before you light it again. This will help the wax become solid again. Another tip is to put your candle in the freezer before you burn it for the first time. This will make the wax even harder and make it burn slower.
